Women Walking Together - May 2010
Betty, Ana and Delia were in Coban on May 4th and 5th, 2010 with the workshop "Women Walking together". Thirty-five Kekchi women participated in this workshop. The Kekchi women learned about the different types of violence, and how to follow the process and be helpful to other women in their communities and churches. Betty shared that it was impressive to do this workshop with 5 translators (Spanish to Kekchi). The women were shy the first day, but the next day they were sharing even their personal experiences with the group. It was powerful for Betty and Delia to see this change in just one day. To the right you can see some pictures from the activity. My favorite one is the one with little girl she asked Betty to explain her "what the women were doing in the Labyrinth?" After Betty explained it to her, she asked Betty for a copy, because she also wanted to pray using the labyrinth.
